    Mountain Travel and Rescue Program Whether you are an outdoor enthusiast looking to expand your survival and travel skills in the back country environment or a ski patroller preparing for one of the worst possible scenarios a parent can face at a ski area (a lost child), the . Mountain Travel and Rescue Level 1 course is an elective course for NSP patrollers that have an interest in becoming knowledgeable in backcountry travel and rescue procedures. This course is also open to the public with similar interests. Prerequisites: A desire to learn and have fun “safely.” You will be expected to read all Chapters with emphasis on 9, 10, 16, and 17 of the NSP MTR.

    What: Mountain Travel and Rescue (MTR) Level 2 course is an elective course for NSP patrollers who have an interest in expanding their knowledge in backcountry travel and rescue procedures. This course is also open to members of the public with the same interests. This course satisfies the prerequisite requirement for Mountain Travel & Rescue 2 (MTR2) as well as provides an elective credit for Ski Patrollers seeking advancement towards their Senior status. Course Overview Students taking the Mountain Travel & Rescue 1 (MTR1) course will learn a variety of skills, including: • hydration and nutrition.
